Sur Hotel

***Mold and Bed Bug Alert*** During our month-long honeymoon, we stayed at three hotels in Dubai and four hotels in Turkey (Antalya, Cappadocia, and Istanbul). Unfortunately, our experience at the Sur Hotel was nothing short of a disaster. We had chosen this hotel solely for its location. Upon arrival, we noticed several concerning issues. The hotel's ceilings were covered in mold, which posed a significant health hazard. Additionally, cabinet doors were broken, and we encountered bed bugs in our room. Since it was late at night when we checked in, changing hotels immediately wasn't possible. My wife started experiencing difficulty breathing and severe coughing during the night. The following morning, I attempted to cancel our nine-night booking early due to the unacceptable conditions. However, the owner or manager refused any refunds and simply told us, "Take it or leave it with no refunds," adding, "Do whatever you guys want to do. I don't care." We intend to contact the booking website and our credit card company for assistance, but we strongly advise others to steer clear of this hotel for the sake of their health and safety. It was undoubtedly the worst night of our honeymoon. I'm not typically one to write reviews, as I'm an easy-going person, but this experience was beyond anything I could have imagined. If I could give a negative rating, it would be -100. Please, do not stay at this hotel.

Really bad service, construction outside our room all day all night . They never warned us about construction. Room is hot and AC doesn’t work sometimes. Bathroom pipes smell like death. Cleaning service doesn’t come you have to ask. Customer service doesn’t exist , demanding and rude receptionist. You have to beg for things to be done which are normally done because it’s normal but this hotel doesn’t think that way. Wouldn’t stay there ever again

I stayed here at April 2022. It seemed like a good value for money to me - hence I booked this hotel. Pros: 1. Location: This is the most important advantage of this hotel. It’s close to most important attractions. Aya Sofya, Blue Mosque is just an 8-10 minute walk. The tram station is at walking distance so you can travel to distance places through this as well. 2. View: You can see the sea of Marmara from the terrace. It’s really great. 3. Wifi: Wifi is good. 4. Behavior: The receptionists are well behaved. 5. Value for money: It’s a budget hotel so don’t expect too much. The value for money is great in my opinion. Cons: 1. Management: They don’t do basic stuff like cleaning the room unless you ask them. 2. Room locks don’t work smoothly so it was a big hassle everytime we tried to lock or unlock our room. 3. Our room was spacious. However, twin/couple rooms are not of great size so you may feel suffocated. 4. AC or Room heater sometimes don’t work well. Overall recommended for budget travellers.

Definitely the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Come to the room and it's just as hot as it was outside, turns out the AC was not working. Brought it up as an issue but I saw no resolution to the issue for 3 days. To add to the preposterous amount of sweat I produced due to the lack of AC, the beds were absolutely abysmal. I woke up with back pain due to the the beds being constructed from only springs and fabric thinner than spider silk. For 3 days, there was little to no sleep due to the amount of uncomfort in the room as well as the fact that the one manager was just straight up rude. Try to resolve the issue of no AC, the abhorrent man just leaves without notice. Honestly, I would never stay here in my life and if you're reading this, I would advise you to stay far away.
